299-carat diamond sells for $12M

Jewellery Business magazine reported that a  "A 299.3-carat diamond found at Petra Diamond’s Cullinan mine in South Africa has sold for US$12.18 million".

"The exceptional Type 11a white gem-quality diamond, which was recovered in January 2021, was purchased by Dubai-based diamond dealer Stargems DMCC." Jewellery Business magazine reported

 

The largest diamond discovered till now, known as the “Star of Africa,” or the Cullinan Diamond, is an unbelievable huge 3,106 carats (1.3 pounds). The diamond was originally found in 1905 in the Premier Mine in Pretoria, South Africa by Thomas Evan Powell.
